Bude zaujímavé stretnúť veľa krásnych psov a ich majiteľov.
I have lived with pedigree dogs most of my life and have been an owner/exhibitor of Tibetan Terriers for 40+years. My first Tibetan came in the early 1980’s, a young White and Black male from Valerie Hocking (Tsering) called Toby, he was a steep learning curve and was my introduction to Tibetan Terriers. He joined my yellow labrador Millie. After following the shows for a couple of years and meeting many of the greats in the breed, some are still around today, I sought a potential show puppy. This was not an easy task and after many setbacks and failed mating’s from some of the top bitches of the day, I had to admit defeat and buy from the “Top Winning Kennel” of that period.
This dog Ch Araki Apache became my first Champion at 2 years of age and was a delight to show and live with. Following on from that, my partner Mark James and I formed Waterley Tibetan Terriers in 1991 and to date we have made up many Champions both homebred and bred by other top kennels, having a very successful time both here and abroad. Just a mention of the more notable winners, Ch Waterley Dressed to Impress and his offspring Ch Alilah’s Very Impressed, Ch Alilahs Xtra Well Dressed. Ch Alilah Urory, Ch Waterley Foreign Affair, Ch Barnstorm Waterley United by Dzine, Ch Waterley Partypiece. Ch Waterley Midnight Martini and Ch Waterley Heart Breaker, these are the most recent and 2 of 4 Champions made up in 2023. They finished as Top TT gaining 3rd in a strong Utility Group and Top Utility Puppy and runner up All breeds Top puppy. We must include the exhibitors both in the UK and overseas who have had faith in our dogs and had success in making up their own Waterley Champions.
We have had the pleasure of being part of the family of the TT World Congress, attending the gatherings around the world with lots of success. Mark and I have been part of the organising committee of 2 of the 3 held in the UK. We have also been in a small part, collaborators with some of the other countries in assisting with their Congress, also in Shih Tzu UK where I was their compere for the day. These events are very sociable and an opportunity to exchange views and promote the health and wellbeing of our breed.
I started judging in 1990 and since then have consistently had an interest and judged other breeds in the Utility Group. I first awarded CC’s in 2003 and currently award CC’s in 8 Utility Breeds and judge the Utility Group.
I have also had the pleasure to judge over the years in many European Countries and Scandinavia and further afield in America and Australia. These appointments have enabled me to judge some of the best TT’s from around the world.
Until recently I was a serving Committee member for the Tibetan Terrier Breeder and Owners Club for many years, I am currently the Tibetan Terrier BEC (Breed Education Coordinator) and the Utility breed representative on the Kennel Club Breed Liaison Council. I am also Secretary of British Utility Breeds Association.
I am involved with judges’ development and have over many years been part of the two TT club’s seminar and training days, where we promote and encourage the breeders and judges of the future. Another role I have had the pleasure of being involved with along with many other breed enthusiasts and helpers is TT Rescue which both clubs have and occasionally work alongside with each other to facilitate the smooth transition of the rescue dogs to their new homes.
Our dogs of which we are extremely proud, are the products of many years of collaborations and learning from breeders past and present both in the UK and Worldwide. I thank all those that have gone before for the experience we were able to gather over those years, and for the encouragement and companionship in our shared passion of the breed that is Tibetan Terriers. Long may it continue.
To the up and and coming breeder/exhibitors, you to can aspire to achieve what ever you want in our hobby of Pedigree dogs, just gather as much information and experience from all around you, and don’t forget that we all started somewhere.
This appointment to judge your Tibetan Breeds Show is, and one I am truly honoured to have received.

I have been active in Tibetan Terriers since 1990. My prefix is Shadeacre and I have bred/owned some 40-ish champions, and a couple of all breed BIS winners. I have also had a Lhasa Apso who was a champion and BIS winner at specialty shows etc.
The Tibetan breeds are close to my heart and as a judge I feel a great responsibility to preserve the breed type and breed characteristics.
I am very much looking forward to this appointment and to meet many lovely dogs and their owners!
